Intel® Parallel Studio XE Release Notes and New Features

This page provides the current Release Notes for Intel® Parallel Studio XE. The notes are categorized by yr, from newest to oldest, with individual releases listed within each yr.

English Release Notes

Overview:

  • Added support for Intel® Advaned Matrix Extensions in Intel® Compilers and Intel® Math Kernel Library.
  • Intel® VTune™ Profiler Memory-Mapped I/O (MMIO) at present supports InfiniBand* devices.
  • Added back up for Intel® Ethernet 800 series in Intel® MPI Library.

  • Added multiple new APIs in Intel® Math Kernel Library.
  • Implemented Memory-Level Roofline feature in Intel® Counselor.
  • Implemented Distributed Asynchronous Object Storage (DAOS) file system back up in Intel® MPI Library.

Overview:

  • Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2020 Update 1 includes functional and security updates. Users should update to the latest version.
  • Later the initial release of Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2020 Update 1 build 085 we found a bug in our installer. Information technology affects but the installer. We republished Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2020 Update i for Windows* with a new package, build 086. Intel® Software Director (ISM) for Windows will find this and alarm you to a new update. Updating is optional, as other than the installer builds 085 and 086 are identical. You may wish to install the newer build 086 so that ISM will not alarm you about this update again in the time to come. We repent for the inconvenience and redundant notices in ISM.
  • Intel® IMPI:
    • Implemented dynamic processes back up in OFI/mlx provider
    • Added PMI2 support
  • Intel® Math Kernel Library: ScaLAPACK introduced distributed nonsymmetric eigensolver functionality
  • Intel® Information Analytics Acceleration Library: New algorithms implemented: Elastic Net and Probabilistic nomenclature for Decision Forest
  • Intel® Advisor:
    • Integrated Roofline feature preview added First Bottleneck visualization and unmarried kernel view and guidance
    • Counselor Python* API back up moved to Python 3
  • Intel® VTune™ Profiler: Microarchitecture Exploration analysis is now supported on Intel processors formerly code-named Icelake.

  • Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2020 includes functional and security updates. Users should update to the latest version.
  • Accelerate Artificial Intelligence inferencing with development support for the latest Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors with Intel® Deep Learning Boost.
  • Expanded cloud back up - Execute HPC jobs in the cloud with Intel® MPI Lbirary back up of AWS's Elastic Fabric Adapter (EFA) for low latency and high bandwidth and support for Amazon Linux 2 Os.

Overview:

  • Update 7 is for Composer Edition Simply: No Professional Edition or Cluster Edition releases for this update
  • Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2019 Update 7 Composer Edition is a compiler bug fix update only. Users may update to the latest version simply it is not required. The bug fix was minor.

  • Simplified configuration of a Windows*-to-Linux* remote collection in Intel® VTune™ Amplifier.

  • Added transparent Singularity* (3.0+) container back up without need for external mpirun or process manager in Intel® MPI Library.

Overview:

  • Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2019 Update 4 includes certain functional and security updates. Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2019 Update 5 is targeted to exist released in September 2019 and will include additional functional and security updates. Customers should update to the latest version as it becomes available.
  • The Intel® Compilers released ii builds for Update 4. The initial Update 4 build and release, "Update 4 initial (removed)", was an early on release for Microsoft Visual Studio* 2019 integration and back up. All other users should use the default Update 4 release compilers. Run into the compiler Release Notes for more than details on these two compiler releases for more information.
  • The Intel® Software License Director has been updated to version two.nine for this release. Yous must upgrade to this version before installing Intel® Parallel Studio XE 2019 Update iv with a floating license.
  • Added back up for Microsoft* Visual Studio 2019.
  • Intel® Math Kernel Library functions LAPACK, ScaLAPACK and FFT deliver functioning improvements through instruction set and threading optimizations
  • GNU* Debugger updated to version eight.2.ane with additional functionality for role entry points, breakpoints and more.
  • Intel® VTune™ Amplifier adds new hardware result support and enhanced retentiveness analysis to design and optimize support for Intel® Optane™ DC Persistent Memory and 2nd Generation Intel® Xeon® Scalable Processors (code name Pour Lake)
  • Intel® Advisor improved user interface for roofline summary pane, added roofline guidance as a preview feature and added analysis back up for AVX-512 vector neural network instructions
  • Intel® Inspector memory checker assay improved to reduce false positive diagnostics
  • Intel® MPI Library increases flexibility by adding application runtime auto tuning and additional improvements for communication algorithms
  • Intel® MPI Benchmarks add features to become more than stable criterion results and adds additional criterion for reductions
  • Intel® Cluster Checker adds support for Intel® Select Solutions for Simulation and Modeling and checking for Intel® Optane DC Persistent Memory configurations
